After travelling to Bali more than 15 times this was the best stay ever and so comfortable, I would highly recommend it to everyone. They are refurbishing it this year when it is already perfect, the staff were great and we were so cared for every day was a special day, thanks to all the Staff at The Bali Shangrila Beach Club.

Nusa Lembongan is how I imagine Bali was 30 years ago. Locals go about their business, the accommodation is simple but comfortable, the food is good and the weather is perfect. Sunset Coin, located a short ride away from the boat harbour, and pretty much everything else (it's only a small island) is local hospitality at its best. The staff are always happy to chat, give you advice on what to do and where to go, book tours for you, and make sure your stay on their island is one to remember.
The restaurant at Sunset Coin is simple and seriously tasty. It's also cheap! Breakfast is great and a nice escape from the ostentatious buffets of the five star resorts back in Bali. Try eggs done any way, or the staple banana pancakes. For dinner, be sure and save some room for the Banana Tempura (pisang goreng) and ice-cream. Simple but really good!
Hire a scooter from your hosts and safely explore the island. Roads are sketchy in parts, but that adds to the island adventure!
Scoot over to Mushroom Bay and Tamarind Bay for a dip, but get their nice and early or later in the day or share your beach time with the endless tour boats dropping snorkelers, sun worshippers and day tourists off.
For sunset, head over to Sunset Beach Club, just a short 100m stroll away, and enjoy with a cocktail and some tasty food, or follow any of the cliff top trails to say goodbye to another perfect Indonesian day.
At night, a mosquito net, fan and air-con will ensure restful, sweet dreams.

Beautiful little hotel with warm hearted owner and staff. They effortlessly made you feel a part of the family and the furniture. Amazing views across the ocean and to the volcano. Some of the sunsets were simply awe inspiring. Crystal clear water right out in front and coral snorkelling not far they take you in a boat. Perfect for us who wanted to laze about in quiet beauty. Shut the gate!! This ones a winner!!

Very friendly staff. Lovely little cabins with pool next to the water with pleasant sea breeze. Well situated at eastern end of shopping strip and close to a good range of restaurants. Near lovely lotus pond. Outdoor shower which was great. Breakfast a bit hit and miss.

Good Location. The breakfasts were reasonably priced and tasty with a lot of variety. I like to sample the local food and was able to try some black sticky rice porridge with coconut milk. It was very good.
My personal safe was not working so I notified the front desk and they quickly got someone up to the room to look at it. A couple of members of the security team were dispatched and they solved the problem effficiently.
It was clean and reasonably priced.
You may want to give people advanced notice that you require a 200,000 Rupiah deposit. Not a big deal.

The hotel itself was good. I have no complaints in that quarter. The area however is not the best. All the neighbors rise early in the morning and cook their breakfast and indeed their maize which they sell in the market over a woodstove. The smell of smoke permeates everything, the outside air, the room inside, even your clothes. We could not sit on that beautiful balcony because of the smoke. Then you go to the dining room which overlooks the ocean in the hope of finding some respite from the wood smoke, only to be 'attacked' by the many and numerous joss sticks that the staff put around the tables. By midday it is better and one can enjoy a swim in the pool which is really lovely. The gardens are well kept and a calm atmosphere prevails, even though the hotel in on a noisy and busy main road.
The restaurant was good too. We had all our meals there and can recommend it.
The touts selling necklaces lean over the wall of the restaurant and disturb your meal!
