Itinerary Overview
This one-day tour of Zhangjiajie will take you from dawn to dusk, offering an immersive experience of the fantastical landscapes of this World Natural Heritage site and thrilling high-altitude activities. The itinerary is well-structured and full of highlights.
Morning (8:00 - 12:00): Explore Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, and wander through the magical realm of “Avatar”
· 8:00 Departure: Take a vehicle from the city centre to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (about a 30-minute drive).
· 9:00 Arrival at the park. First, take the Bailong Lift, reaching the summit in 66 seconds. At the viewing platform, overlook the spectacular scene of three thousand extraordinary peaks rising from the ground, as if entering the floating mountain world of “Avatar”.
· 10:00 Hike the Yuanjiajie loop trail. Along the plank road, admire the iconic stone pillar clusters such as “The Pillar of Heaven and Earth” and “The World's First Bridge”, and experience the mysterious atmosphere of misty clouds and peak forests like swords.
· 11:00 Stroll along Jinbian Stream at Siquanmen, meandering through the primitive forest canyon. The stream water is clear, and macaques occasionally appear. Enjoy the freshness and tranquility of the natural oxygen bar.
Noon (12:00 - 13:00): Lunch time, savouring the flavours of Xiangxi.
Experience local specialities (such as Tujia Sanxiaoguo and Rock Ear Stewed Free-range Chicken) in the scenic area's restaurants to replenish energy and rest and adjust.
Afternoon (13:30 - 17:30): Challenge the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge and immerse yourself in an adventure in the high altitude.
· 13:30 Take a vehicle to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon (about 40 minutes' drive).
· 14:30 Walk on the glass bridge, the world's highest and longest transparent bridge spanning between two mountains. The deep valley and river below are visible, and walking on it feels like soaring in the clouds. You can take as many stunning photos as you like.
· 15:30 Experience additional canyon activities (optional): Adventurous tourists can try the high-altitude zip line, cliff bungee jumping or the glass slide to experience the thrill of a rapid descent.
· 16:30 Explore the Grand Canyon along the footpath, admiring waterfalls, deep pools, and sheer cliffs with cascading waterfalls. Before leaving, take a cruise along the canyon waters to immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature.
Evening (after 5:30 p.m.): Return to the city centre and end the tour.
We will take a vehicle back to the urban area of Zhangjiajie, and are expected to arrive around 18:30, concluding a fulfilling and unforgettable adventure for the day.
