What you can expect

  • Step beyond the usual sightseeing experience and discover Zadar through a different lens.

“From History to Fantasy” is a unique walking tour that blends history, mythology, folklore, ethnology, and pop culture into an immersive storytelling experience through the streets of Zadar’s Old Town.

Together, we will explore lesser-known locations, hidden corners, urban legends, historical events, and traditional beliefs that reveal how real cultures and stories inspire the fantasy worlds we recognise in books, games, film, and modern media.

Rather than separating history from imagination, this tour connects them — showing how mythology, symbolism, music, folklore, and cultural memory continue to shape modern storytelling and popular culture today.

Along the way, you will discover:

hidden details and overlooked locations within the Old Town
local legends, myths, and traditional beliefs
    historical events and cultural symbolism
connections between real history and fantasy archetypes
references to fantasy literature, games, and pop culture

    This experience is perfect for:

    fantasy and mythology enthusiasts
    gamers, readers, and creative minds
curious travellers looking for something different
visitors interested in culture, storytelling, and local history

Whether you are a lifelong fantasy fan or simply curious about the stories hidden beneath the surface of the city, this tour offers a unique and memorable perspective on Zadar.
