Overview

This workshop is a unique chance to see the backstage of the traditional art of Sbek Touch, recognised as a UNESCO Masterpieces of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

You will learn the craft with our professional puppeteers in an intimate and authentic frame. Have fun and bring back home your own Khmer puppet!

Take part in this once nearly vanished art form that connects so many of the most beautiful elements of ancient Khmer culture. Perfect for student groups, corporate team building, families, and anyone who wants a unique experience. Led by Bambu Stage Puppeteers, each workshop takes you through the process of creating and using traditional leather puppets: Work on one 15x20 cm cut of leather, Get a hands-on learning experience under expert guidance, Learn about the tools, materials and techniques, Get to play a character or create a short original shadow play with their souvenir, Go back with your own puppet!
