What you can expect

Our tour starts at the Windmill at the corner of Francis St and Bucktrout Ln where we discuss the differences between domestic and plantation slavery. The rise of tobacco as the cash crop and the labour involved.

In front of the Colonial Capitol building and talk about the origins of slavery in Virginia, the legal definition, and the laws passed to keep it in place.

At the Courthouse, we discover how the laws were enforced.

From the Geddy house, we explore the attitudes of the citizens of Virginia towards slavery.
