Overview

Located in the heart of the capital opposite Apsley House, Wellington Arch is one of London’s most iconic monuments. It’s crowned by the largest bronze sculpture in Europe: the Angel of Peace descending on the Chariot of War.

Climb up to the arch’s balconies and you’ll get panoramic views over central London. Time your visit right, and you can see the Household Cavalry passing beneath, as they ride to and from the Changing of the Guard at Horse Guards Parade.

Within the arch, you’ll discover displays revealing its fascinating storey. On the second floor, you’ll find a display about the Royal Regiment of Artillery, 1914-1918. On the top two floors you can enjoy changing displays of contemporary art from the Vigo Gallery.
