Come and immerse yourself in the world of Cézanne with watercolour painting in the great outdoors, starting from the Bibémus Quarries.
Go on a walk with Elodie, an expert guide on the painter Paul Cézanne. She will offer you an interpretation of the master's works in situ, his history and his pictorial choices.
Your guide will accompany you through the countryside around Aix-en-Provence, in the heart of the landscapes that inspired the father of modern art. It was at the foot of Sainte-Victoire mountain that he came to set up his easel more than a century ago.
Then it's time for some artistic practice! Facing the landscape, you will be guided by our artist-painter in an introduction to watercolour painting that is accessible to all, whether beginners or experienced artists.
You will begin by getting to grips with watercolour through simple exercises to learn how to manage pigments and water, and then the techniques of blending and wash. You will then paint a view of Mount Sainte-Victoire from the motif, guided step by step by the artist.
Élisabeth and Laura tailor their guidance to each level and invite you to slow down, observe, and gain confidence in your ability to create. They prioritise the joy of creating and the experience of the landscape, in an atmosphere conducive to artistic expression.
No previous drawing or painting experience is necessary. Beginners are welcome.
All materials are provided, and children are welcome.
Come and enjoy a sensory experience through artistic expression in the heart of nature, and take home your own creation.
