This experience combines nature, history and spectacular panoramic views of the Danube Valley. Hike through forests and rocky paths while enjoying impressive views over the river and surrounding landscape.
Many visitors only explore the Wachau from the towns or by boat. On this tour you experience the region from above and discover hidden corners away from the crowds.
Depending on the group, weather and conditions, the route may also include more adventurous and exposed trail sections for those who feel comfortable with them. Your guide will always adapt the experience to the participants and choose the most suitable option.
Along the way, learn more about the local landscape, hiking in Austria and practical mountain skills from your certified guide.
The tour also includes a stop at a traditional mountain hut where you can relax and enjoy local food and drinks (at your own expense) in an authentic Austrian mountain setting.
You will also visit the famous ruins overlooking Dürnstein, adding a touch of medieval history to the experience.
The hike covers around 4 kilometres with approximately 350 metres of elevation gain and is completed at a comfortable pace with breaks along the way.
After the hike, enjoy some free time to wander through the picturesque streets of Dürnstein with its small shops, cafés and historic atmosphere.
