What you can expect

  • Ready to venture into the greenest and wildest heart of the Sierra Nevada National Park? Discover this accessible, amazing, and deeply rewarding hike under the watchful eye of the highest peaks on the Iberian Peninsula: Mulhacén, Pico Veleta, and La Alcazaba rise spectacularly to more than 3,000 metres, reminding you why this area is nicknamed the “Andalusian Himalayas”

La Vereda de la Estrella is the most beautiful trail in Granada. It's not just a beautiful hike; it's the epic sensation of travelling back in time through mining history, walking among chestnut, ash, oak, and maple trees.

We'll meet at the Güéjar Sierra Sports Centre, and our entry point to the National Park will be the confluence of the Genil and San Juan rivers. During the journey, the trail offers us an unusual greenery, and of course, we will visit the imposing Centennial Chestnut Tree, “El Abuelo”. You'll enjoy the best vantage points in the valley with time to rest, celebrate, and admire these simply unparalleled landscapes, going far enough into the valley to enjoy all its beauty without the effort of the full route.

We will cover 15 kilometres of medium-low difficulty with a duration of 8 hours for the return. Its elevation gain of only +450 metres is ideal for regular hikers looking for a full immersion without a major athletic challenge. We set out in small groups of no more than 12 people to ensure safety and a personalised experience.

This route is suitable for regular hikers, active families, and anyone with a moderate physical condition. If you're looking for history, natural beauty, and a gentle challenge, this adventure is for you!
