Escape the city of Uyuni and head to the salt flats in a 4x4 vehicle. Visit the Train Cemetery, Colchani, and the Salar de Uyuni. See the Salt Hotel, the Dakar Monument, and the Island of the Flags of the World. Enjoy a glass of wine as you watch the sunset.
Start your tour with a visit to the Train Cemetery. Admire the 19th-century locomotives that will remind you of old times. This beautiful place is excellent for photographers.
Next, head to Colchani. Visit the Rosario Cooperative, a salt iodization plant located on the edge of the salt flats. Observe the methods of extraction and the salt processing. Also, visit the Salt Craft Market (llama clothing - salt crafts) and a small salt museum.
Continue to the Salar de Uyuni. With an altitude of 3665 metres and an area of 12,000 km2, the tour of the salt flats offers a dazzling and incomparable landscape. Also, visit the salt eyes, the salt, and take beautiful photos.
Visit the Salt Museum - Hotel, an unusual construction built entirely with salt blocks. Next, visit the Dakar Monument and the Island of the Flags of the World, where you can bring your own flag and place it there for free.
Head to Isla Incahuasi, located in the centre of the salt flats. This island is like an oasis of an exclusive and isolated ecosystem, and is inhabited by cacti 1 to 4 metres high. Incahuasi Island is considered an excellent place for photographers, as well as a place to rest, with the impressive landscape of the majestic Salar de Uyuni.
Finally, enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine and return to the city of Uyuni at approximately 7:15 PM.
