Day 1:
Samarkand – Ukhum (160 km, ±3 hours)

Description:
Departure from Samarkand (the time can be changed by request of traveller).

  • Samarkand: We leave from Samarkand in the direction of Ukhum Village, and on the way we will make several stops to take amazing photos.
  • Ukhum Village, will be the real corner of peace for those who tired of city fuss. Village, which has preserved the quiet and moral valuables of the past and it seems that a small part of virgin nature suspended in time. The place is the one of the villages in the region where you can come across houses built of flat stones on the edges of steep walls. Local people build themselves houses of small stones, rocks and clay. You can visit each house and get acquainted with the local life and even ride a donkey.
  • Hayat. In the evening visit to part of Nurata Natural Reserve where you can see wild sheeps (Seversov sheep) and petroglyphs. Visit will be as trek 6 km return from Ukhum or can be organise car transfer.
  • Ukhum Village. In the evening and especially in early morning the air is so fresh and pure that one can’t breathe enough. The village has electricity, but in contrast to city lights, it does not prevent from enjoying the starry sky.

Route: Ukhum Village - Majrum - Samarkand (165 km, ±3.00 hours)
Description:

  • UkhumUkhum Village: After breakfast guests have an opportunity to experience and participate in everyday life of local people. They can participate in baking bread in clay ovens (tandyr). The most popular tourist activities are hiking, bird watching, photo shoot, ecological tours and others. There is no better place where one can feel the rhythm of life of another world.
  • Majrum: On the road to Samarkand visit to Majrum village and Nurata Natural Reserve where you can see the ancient tree which have more than 20m of diameter
    Departure to Samarkand.

Arrival in Samarkand (hotel / railway station / airport).

You can start this tour from Tashkent / Samarkand / Bukhara and return to one of these cities.
Protective hiking boots or sport shoes and long trousers are recommended along with cap or hat. Sunglasses could be helpful as well. Warm jacket is needed in early spring and late autumn seasons.

Local cuisine is usually based on beef or lamb meat, may contain rice, wheat or sorgo dough and many vegetables. Make sure to let us know if you prefer vegetarian cuisine or have any other preferences.
