What you can expect

Rise before the sun and experience an enchanting Uluru Sunrise then discover the landscape at Kata Tjuta while you take a hike between two of the huge domes.

While the desert still sleeps you'll be collected from your hotel 90 minutes before sunrise and head towards the Uluru sunrise viewing area in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

Warm up with a steaming cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate then make your way to the sunrise viewing platform to see the sun drench the landscape in its buttery morning glow. Watch Uluru transform as the sun creeps above the horizon. What was once a dark mound rising spectacularly from the plains is now a blushing mountain with rippling contours and cliffs.

Devote the rest of the morning to exploring Kata Tjuta, a series of 36 domed rock formations that rise out of the desert landscape and bear religious significance for the Pitjantjatjara Anangu people. As Tjanpi (Zebra Finch) chatter and Mala (Rufous Hare Wallaby) scatter about, embark on a walk through Walpa Gorge and walk amongst nature like lush evergreen spearwood trees and woolly cloak fern with its characteristic blue-green fronds.

Return to your hotel in the late morning.
