What you can expect

We will take a tour of the Udias mines, which were the largest zinc and lead mines in Cantabria.
We will be equipped with overalls, helmets and boots to go into the caves. Accompanied by an expert tour guide in speleology, we will go through the galleries and tunnels knowing the work that the miners did in search of minerals such as galena, blende, cerussite, pyrolusite … etc..
The Udias mines were in operation between 1853 and 1932. During all those years, the miners worked hard to help the family economy. Did you know that these mines are part of the mining heritage of Cantabria?
After an hour and a half walking through the mine passages, we will go back to the open air and recover our strength with a lunch.
