Vidraru Dam

Vidraru Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Argeș River in Romania. It was built between 1960 and 1965 and has a height of 166 metres (545 feet). The dam creates a lake with a capacity of 465 million cubic metres (16.2 billion cubic feet) and a surface area of 22.5 square kilometres (8.7 square miles). The dam is used to generate electricity and to regulate the flow of the Argeș River.

It is accessible by car on the Transfăgărășan road during the summer, and the rest of the year by a cable car from the Bâlea.
