This full-day tour takes you from Guadalajara to one of Mexico’s most iconic towns — Tequila, Jalisco. You’ll visit the real places, meet real people, and taste the real thing.
The centrepiece of the day is a guided visit to La Rojeña, the historic José Cuervo distillery and one of the oldest operating tequila factories in Mexico. You’ll walk through the entire production process — from the agave fields where the piñas are harvested, through cooking, fermentation, distillation, and ageing — and finish with a professional tasting.
From there, the tour continues into Tequila City centre, a Pueblo Mágico where you can explore local shops, try regional food, and soak in the atmosphere of a town that’s been built around this drink for centuries. A stop at the giant swing gives you one of the best photo spots in the region, with agave fields stretching out behind you.
The day wraps up at Cantaritos el Güero, a local institution where the house drink is a cantarito — tequila, citrus, and soft drink served in a traditional huge clay mug. There’s usually live music, and the energy of the place speaks for itself.
Return transport from Guadalajara is included. Your guide will be with you throughout the day.
