What you can expect

Begin your journey with a classic Uzbek tea ceremony, the ultimate symbol of hospitality. Discover the ancient secrets behind this tradition and learn the unique ritual of “kaytarish”—pouring the hot tea into the piala (traditional tea bowl) and back into the teapot three times. This process, beautifully capturing the elements of “loy” (clay), “moy” (fat), and “choy” (tea), helps unlock the full aroma, colour, and flavour of the leaves.

Learn why a respectful host always pours tea only half-full into your piala—a heartwarming sign that you are welcome to stay longer and that your tea will always be served fresh and hot.

Following the tea ritual, move to the hands-on cooking session. Together, prepare a famous authentic Uzbek main dish—traditional Plov. Under the expert guidance of your professor, actively participate in every single step, from selecting and chopping the fresh ingredients to mastering the preparation of the “zirvak” (the aromatic broth base that gives the dish its rich flavour).

While the main course is simmering on the fire, learn how to prepare a classic, refreshing Uzbek national salad using fresh local vegetables and traditional herbs that perfectly complement the main meal.

Finally, sit down together at a beautifully set table to enjoy the delicious feast created by your own hands. The meal will be accompanied by fresh local bread (non), traditional sweets, and endless cups of fragrant green and black tea.
