This is the only horseback tour in the Tamarindo area that combines an ethically-run jungle rancho with direct beach access — a 2-hour ride founded by a South African entrepreneur who built Riding Escapes specifically to put horse welfare first.

Departing from the farm in Matapalo, you'll ride into private jungle trails dotted with waterfalls and natural springs, where howler monkeys, iguanas and tropical birds live undisturbed. From there, the trail opens onto Playa Puerto Viejo and continues to Playa Conchal — known for its shoreline of crushed seashells.

Every tour is and led by certified local horsemen trained in the “Connect with Horses” method — a horsemanship approach built on trust rather than dominance. Beginners are welcome; the pace adapts to the group. A sunset departure at 4 PM is available for riders who want to finish the beach stretch as the light turns golden.

Helmets, water, sun cream and free photos/videos are included. After the ride, rinse off at the farm's outdoor shower.
