Overview

The South Coast of Iceland has many natural wonders and quaint villages to explore. During the tour, we will travel through lava fields, past mountains, and glaciers. We will go explore and experience the wilderness and the breathtaking views over South Iceland. We will visit the Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall that you can walk behind and Skogafoss, one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland. After that, we will stop by at the small peninsula Dyrhólaey. The view from Dyrhólaey is interesting: To the north is to be seen the big glacier Mýrdalsjökull. To the east, the black lava columns of the Reynisdrangar come out of the see. We also will go to the Black Sand Beach of Reynisfjara with its rich birdlife, magnificent basalt column cliffs and stunning sea stacks.

Activity itinerary

Reynisdrangar View
  • 30m
Vík í Mýrdal is a remote seafront village in south Iceland. It sits in the shadow of Mýrdalsjökull glacier, which covers the Katla volcano. Reyniskirkja is a wooden church dating to 1929. Reynisfjara beach has black pebbles, basalt columns and the Reynisdrangar offshore rock formations. The cliffs of Reynisfjall mountain are home to seabirds such as puffins. Just west, the Dyrhólaey peninsula has a large rock arch.
Skogafoss
  • 25m
Skógafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in Iceland, with a drop of more than 60 metres and a width of 25 metres, and you can walk right up to, but be prepared to be drenched.
Seljalandsfoss
  • 30m
  • Admission ticket included
Seljalandsfoss is one of the best-known waterfalls in Iceland. It is 65 metres tall and it is breathtaking. A path leads you behind the waterfall, but do bring a raincoat as you will get soaking wet from the drizzle. It is fantastic walking behind Seljalandsfoss, especially on a sunny day when one can catch a rainbow.
Dyrholaey
  • 30m
Dyrhólaey, formerly known by seamen as Cape Portland, is a small promonotory located on the south coast of Iceland, not far from the village Vík. It was formerly an island of volcanic origin, which is also known by the Icelandic word eyja meaning island
Black Sand Beach
  • 30m
Black Sand Beach (Reynisfjara) is the most famous black sand beach in Iceland. Its beautiful black sand, powerful waves and the Reynisdrangar sea stacks make Black Sand Beach a truly unique place to visit.
