Description

Explore the flavours, ingredients, and techniques of traditional Nepalese cooking during this culinary excursion to the Seven Women centre. Learn how this food-focused non-profit is working to improve the lives of women in Nepal and the get the chance to help create a tasty lunch along the way.

Meet up with your guide at the Kathmandu Guest House near the city centre and hop in a taxi for the quick ride to the Seven Women centre. When you arrive, learn about the centre's mission and take a tour of the greenhouse where many of the ingredients for your lunch are harvested. Find out what flavours and types of produce are typically used in Nepalese cuisine, and then head to the kitchen to start prepping your meal.

Work alongside women enrolled in the centre's skills training programmes as you follow recipes to create dishes that have been passed down through their families for generations. Listen to hands-on feedback on different techniques used to create classic dishes, help put the finishing touches on each plate, and then sit down to enjoy your tasty meal before catching a lift back to the Kathmandu Guest House, where your tour concludes.
