  • Mariella's apartment is located on the seventh floor and is accessible by lift. Please note there is a short flight of stairs leading to the lift, so the experience may not be suitable for wheelchair users or guests with significant mobility limitations.

Activity itinerary

Join local host Mariella in her welcoming home in the heart of Catania for a private Sicilian culinary experience. When booking, choose one of three experiences: Pizza Cooking Class + Meal (lunch or dinner), where you'll make traditional Sicilian pizza from scratch, along with a seasonal starter and dessert; Pasta Cooking Class + Meal (lunch or dinner), where you'll prepare a seasonal Sicilian menu featuring an starter, a traditional pasta dish and dessert; or Market Tour + Cooking Class + Lunch, where you'll meet Mariella at Piazza Duomo, explore Catania's lively fish market, shop for fresh seasonal ingredients, then return to her home to cook and enjoy your meal together. All experiences include two glasses of local Sicilian wine. Please note: the pasta class is not a handmade pasta-making class. Instead, Mariella uses high-quality, store-bought pasta made from organically grown ancient Sicilian grains, allowing the class to focus on authentic Sicilian recipes, cooking techniques, and flavours. Learn treasured family recipes, discover Sicilian culinary traditions, and enjoy local hospitality and a meal with this Catanian family in Mariella's home overlooking the sea.
