Begin your hike by following a scenic mountain trail with a total distance of approximately 18 km return from the starting point. The route is well-paced and enjoyable, combining open alpine landscapes, mountain meadows, and panoramic viewpoints.
Along the way, stop at a traditional mountain hut (stan), offering a natural rest stop and a glimpse into the seasonal life of local shepherds. Learn about the geological formation of the glacial lakes, the flora and fauna of the park, and the cultural importance of the area.
Reach the Shebenik peak, where you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular panoramic view. From this viewpoint, see all five glacial lakes simultaneously, each with its own shape, colour, and character. Directly across the landscape lies the UNESCO-protected beech forest area of Rrajcë, part of one of Europe’s most important and well-preserved primeval forest ecosystems.
Throughout the hike, enjoy plenty of opportunities for photography, short breaks, and quiet moments to fully appreciate the untouched nature of Shebenik.
