Step into the McKinnon Hotel in Shanghai for an immersive theatre experience like no other. Inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Sleep No More combines physical theatre, dance, music, cinematic lighting, and detailed set design to create a mysterious film-noir atmosphere.
Put on a white mask and move freely through the atmospheric multi-floor performance space. Different scenes happen at the same time in different rooms, corridors, halls, bedrooms, lounges, and hidden corners of the building. Choose which characters to follow, which rooms to explore, and how to experience the storey.
Set inside the fictional McKinnon Hotel, the show creates the feeling of stepping into a dreamlike world where reality, memory, desire, and fate are mixed together. Because the performance relies strongly on movement, atmosphere, music, and visual storytelling, it can be enjoyed by international visitors even if they do not speak Chinese.
Arrive at the venue at least 30 minutes before the ticketed performance time to allow enough time for check-in, ticket exchange, storage of personal items if required, and entry preparation. Comfortable shoes are strongly recommended because guests will walk and stand during most of the experience.
