What you can expect

Step beyond the tea bag and into the world of authentic Chinese tea culture. In this hands-on workshop, you won't just watch a tea ceremony – you will perform one yourself.

Led by a certified Chinese tea master, you'll receive your own personal tea set and learn the refined techniques of the Gongfu tea ceremony. From warming the cups to pouring the perfect infusion, every gesture tells a storey. By the end of the session, you'll confidently brew tea like a local master.

Begin with an engaging introduction to the history of Chinese tea and the six major tea families (green, white, yellow, oolong, red, and dark tea).

Then, receive your own complete tea set, including a gaiwan (lidded bowl for brewing), fairness cup (cha hai), tea strainer, small tasting cups, tea pick, and towel. Your tea master will guide you step by step through the complete Gongfu tea ritual: warm the vessels, place the tea, awaken the leaves, high pour, low pour, serve, and enjoy.

Learn why height, angle, and timing matter – skills that turn a simple brew into an art form. By the end, you will be able to perform the full ceremony independently.

Expand your palate by sampling three distinct Chinese teas, each representing a major category: green tea, black tea, and oolong tea. Your tea master will guide you through professional tasting techniques.

About the host,
Xiaotong, who is not only a tea master or tea instructor, but also a third‑generation tea keeper –a direct inheritor of her family's tea legacy in Fujian province, the historic heart of Chinese oolong tea.
Holding the official Tea Artisan Professional Qualification Certificate, she is also a certified Advanced Tea Therapist accredited by the International Healing Association. She understands tea not only as a drink but as a tool for mindfulness, stress relief, and emotional balance.
