Activity itinerary

Mercado do Bolhao
  • 1h
Mercado do Bolhão is a must see place in Porto. Located in the centre of the city, this market is where you’ll find fresh produce, meat, fish and flowers. And you’ll meet the most unique characters in Porto. Dating back from 1839, when the town hall bought the land where the market now stands and defined the area as a market. Here you will taste a variety of the famous sardins in can with a glass of vinho verde.
Avenida Dos Aliados
  • 1h
“Aliados”, as Porto inhabitants call in short and proudly to this large avenue, is Porto’s reception room. Some say this is our little Champs Elysées, but this designation is unfair for both sides. This avenue is a lively one and surrounded by beautiful buildings, with a very specific character that has much to do with the strength that people from Porto have shown throughout History. It is a central hub for tourists and local. Worth to spend an hour to tour around the area and take some snapshots on the surrounding. Here you will try the typical starter all locals adore, a salty snack with a beer.
Terreiro da Se
  • 40m
Perched on a hilltop standing watch over the city, the Porto Cathedral (known as the Sé) was originally built between the 12th and 13th centuries, and features a variety of architectural styles, including Romanesque, baroque and gothic. The fortress-like church is the largest in the city and one of Porto's oldest monuments; it's flanked by twin towers. Here you will have the opportunity of take nice pictures and have a great view from one of the best view points of the city. After that you will taste a local codfish croquet (bolinho de bacalhão) with a glass of wine.
Sao Bento
  • 10m
The S. Bento railway station, in the city centre of Porto is often described as one of the most beautiful train stations in the entire world. And this is not an overstatement. Indeed, we are talking walls and ceilings covered with 22 thousand tiles - azulejos - by Jorge Colaço, painter, caricaturist and potter. Here we will see and talk about all the murals of tiles.
Fonte dos Aliados
  • 10m
This avenue is a lively one and surrounded by beautiful buildings, with a very specific character that has much to do with the strength that people from Porto have shown throughout History. Here you will know the history of the building you can see.
Rua das Flores
  • 30m
Vegetable and lush flower gardens gave this street its name. In fact, the land used for the street was originally the gardens of Pedro Alvarez da Costa, Bishop of Porto. And was opened in 1525 in the reign of King Manuel. With the construction of the street came the end of prohibitions of Nobility settling in the city and the rise of the bourgeoisie. Flowers Street was a host to these historic developments. There was some urban aristocracy, but most of the street housed tradespeople. There were mechanics, cobblers, metalworkers, bricklayers and blacksmiths. There was a demand for skilled artisans to build for the developing middle class. Today, the street is still in fashion. It is a pedestrianised zone, ideal for casual walking and sight seeing. Here we will taste the typical nata.
Ribeira Square
  • 30m
Ribeira Square and district are the most vivid places in the city of Porto, Portugal. Other than being beautiful during golden hour, where the natural lights of the sky get reflected in all the colourful houses of this area, this place is also where most of the actions of the city take place. All these facts make it be one of the best areas in Porto. It´s a place you must add to your list when visiting Porto´s historic centre and old town. Here you will taste some cheese, ham, wine and some more surprises!
