Next, we’ll visit the South Jetty Observation Tower, where you’ll stand above the powerful meeting point of the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean—famously known as the Graveyard of the Pacific. Here, we’ll explain the dramatic history of the Columbia River Bar, one of the most dangerous crossings in the world. We'll also stop at Battery Russell, a historic military fortification once used for coastal defence.
