What you can expect

When night falls, Santo Domingo changes.

The streets fill with activity, food stalls appear, and a part of everyday life begins that many visitors never get to know. While most tourists stay in the best-known areas, Dominicans go out to dinner, meet up with friends, and enjoy some of the city's most popular dishes.

This experience takes you off the tourist track to discover what nightlife is really like in Santo Domingo.

We'll visit several local food spots where you'll try some of the country's most iconic street foods, including pica pollo, chimi, yaroa, and pierna de cerdo. More than just a food tasting, each stop helps you understand why these dishes are an important part of Dominican culture and how they fit into everyday life in the city.

This is not about visiting famous restaurants or places designed for tourists. These are businesses frequented by residents that have been part of their areas' routine for years.

Along the way, we'll talk about local habits, urban culture, schedules, customs, and how food connects people after work and during their leisure time.

The experience is conducted in a small group of a maximum of four participants, allowing for a relaxed pace, natural conversations, and enough time to ask questions and better understand the surroundings.

This is a food tasting tour focused on discovering flavours and the local context. It's not a formal dinner or an experience designed to consume large amounts of food.

If you want to get to know a more authentic version of Santo Domingo, away from the usual routes and accompanied by someone who experiences the city every day, this experience will allow you to see a part of the capital that many travellers overlook.

Many visitors are familiar with the Zona Colonial.

Few discover where Dominicans eat after dark.
