Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in the Sacred Valley. Follow the route along the sacred river (Vilcanota River) for approximately 30 minutes, until reaching the road turnoff towards the community of Socma.
Continue by vehicle for about 45 minutes uphill along a dirt road until reaching the native community of Rayanniyoc. Upon arrival, leave the vehicle and prepare for the true adventure. After a brief introduction about the community, its way of life, and the surrounding Apus (Wakay Willka, Salkantay, and Pumasillo), begin your hike.
Start with a downhill walk (recommended to use trekking poles), lasting approximately 30 minutes until reaching the Inca archaeological complex. Explore this impressive Inca site with your guide, surrounded by spectacular views of the valley and mountains.
Continue the itinerary with a downhill hike for about one hour until reaching the mysterious water sources known as the Peroniyoc Waterfalls. (Optional: If you prefer not to continue downhill, you can return uphill for 30 minutes and continue by vehicle to the next site.)
Upon arrival, enjoy the breathtaking views and refreshing energy of the waterfalls, associated with the spirit of “Yaku Mama” (Mother Water). Then, continue walking for about 30 more minutes along a mostly flat path with a gentle slope until reaching the road crossing near the community, where you will enjoy your box lunch. After lunch, board your vehicle and travel for approximately 30 minutes to the next destination.
Take a short uphill walk of about 15 minutes (including a series of Inca stone steps) to visit the sacred “Waka” known as the “Portal to the Third Dimension”, an energy centre that was very important during the Inca period and is still recognised today as a powerful place for Andean spiritual practices and connection with cosmic energies.
Finally, after exploring the site, descend the Inca steps (approximately 10 minutes), return to your vehicle, and head back to your hotel in the Sacred Valley, concluding the tour around 5:00 PM.
