Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation in Sa Pa at 7:30 am, and you'll travel by bus to Bac Ha Market, a 110-kilometre journey that takes around 3 hours. You'll arrive at the market around 10:45 am, where you’ll have time to explore this lively highland market, known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings. Local ethnic groups, such as the Mong Flower, Tay, Nung, and Dao, come together here to trade goods like vegetables, sugarcane, livestock, and clothing. The market is also a social hub, especially for young people looking to meet potential partners. Operating only on Sundays from 6 am to 3 pm, Bac Ha is the largest and most famous highland market in Vietnam, offering a fascinating glimpse into the region's cultures.
After exploring the market, you'll travel to Pho Village, a small Mong Flower community just 2 kilometres away. Here, you'll have the chance to experience local customs in a traditional house and enjoy a 20-minute walk through the village before rejoining the group. From Pho Village, the journey continues to Lao Cai City, where you’ll visit the Ha Khau border gate to China and the Mau Temple. The tour concludes with your return to Sa Pa by 5:00 pm.
