What you can expect

Experience the local life in Hanoi and get a real feel for the city's lively culture on this scenic and tasty tour. Ride a rickshaw through the bustling streets, take a bicycle to explore the city on your own, and pick your favourite foods from a local market for a lesson in Vietnamese-style cooking.

After meeting your guide at your hotel, get on the rickshaw for a 20-minute ride through central Hanoi. Pass the Long Biên Bridge, built in 1902 and thought to have been designed by the French architect Gustave Eiffel, take some impressive photos, and learn some of the local language.

Next, you can take a bicycle on a 5-minute ride to reach the traditional market, where you can find a variety of herbs, spices, vegetables, meats, fish, and fruit. Practice your language skills and pick up some ingredients to cook up under the instruction of your guide, learning how to marinate and apply the spices that form an important part of Vietnamese food.

When you're ready, enjoy your meal with local hosts and learn about the history, culture, and meaning of the dishes in an ideal dining place with a wonderful view of the Red River and Long Biên Bridge.
