What you can expect

  • Begin your adventure with Redwood National Parks, beside Lost man Creek and meander through prairies, forests, and meadows to reach the heart of Prairie Creek State Park.

We e-bike beneath dense canopies, with dappled sunlight filtering through the immense and ancient trees. The air is cool and fragrant with the tranquil sounds for which the redwoods are known, creating a magical atmosphere. While most of the trails are relatively flat, some parts introduce gentle ascents and descents and primarly packed gravel, lending to relaxed riding where little to no e-biking experience is required.

Expect to see a vibrant understory of ferns, redwood sorrel, and moss-draped maples. The dense, lush greenery often gives the forest a jungle-like appearance. Along our route, keep an eye out for Roosevelt elk, various bird species, and if you're lucky, perhaps even a black bear or fox.

Upon reaching Big Tree, a massive redwood estimated to be at least 1500 years old, we take a break off the bikes and enjoy the forest up close and personal. At this point, we explore a short, .5 mile trail through some of the best old-growth the parks have to offer before returning to our electric bikes to begin the return trip to the start point. This area is a popular spot for photographs and offers interpretive signage.

The 4-hour duration allows for more than just a quick stop at Big Tree. Spend time exploring the immediate area, taking a short walk on the Circle Trail (a 1/2 mile loop) and immerse yourself in some extremely impressive redwoods. Once we are ready, we finish the tour by riding back to the start point, completing roughly 17 miles during the 4-hour experience.

A 4-hour tour provides ample time to bike at a leisurely pace, stopping frequently to take photos, admire the trees, eat snacks, and simply soak in the tranquility of the forest. You won't feel rushed and can truly enjoy the unique environment.
