    • Cruise Ship Information: Please provide your ship’s full name, scheduled arrival time, and arrival port—Puntarenas or Puerto Caldera—when booking.
    • Meeting Time: The tour departs at 8:00 AM or approximately 30 minutes after your ship arrives in port, whichever is later. Your exact departure time will be confirmed after booking.
    • Meeting Point: Meet your guide outside the main entrance to your cruise pier. Pickup is not available inside the cruise terminal.
    • Accessibility: The standard coffee tour route is not wheelchair accessible and may not be suitable for guests with significant mobility limitations.
    • Travel Time: This six-hour excursion includes extended scenic drives between the cruise port, the Atenas coffee region, and the Tárcoles River.
    • What to Wear: Comfortable, lightweight clothing and walking shoes are recommended.
    • What to Bring: Bring sun protection, rain protection, a camera, and cash or a credit card for food, drinks, coffee, souvenirs, and other personal expenses.
    • Coffee Tasting: A guided coffee tasting is included. Please advise the team when booking if you have any relevant food allergies or dietary restrictions.
    • Wildlife: Crocodiles and other wildlife are observed in their natural habitat. Sightings and the number of animals visible cannot be guaranteed.
    • Late Arrivals & No-Shows: Late arrivals and no-shows are non-refundable.
    • No Port, No Pay: If your cruise ship does not call at the scheduled port, you will receive a full refund.
    • Rain or Shine: This tour operates rain or shine. Please check the forecast and dress appropriately.
    • Walking Requirements: The COOPEATENAS Coffee Experience involves approximately half a mile of walking and several sections of stairs within the processing facilities.

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Puntarenas or Puerto Caldera through Costa Rica’s rolling countryside to COOPEATENAS, a coffee cooperative representing more than 1,300 local producers. Step into the world behind Costa Rica’s famous coffee as you explore the growing areas and processing facilities. Follow each stage from cultivation and hand-selection to processing and roasting, learn how sustainable practices support local farming families, and discover what gives the coffee of Atenas its distinctive character. Finish with a guided tasting that brings the entire journey together, followed by time to browse freshly roasted coffee and local products at the on-site shop.

Continue to the Crocs Skywalk overlooking the wild banks of the Tárcoles River. From the elevated observation platform, watch for American crocodiles resting below while taking in panoramic views of the river and surrounding tropical vegetation. Capture photos, browse Costa Rican handicrafts, or purchase a snack or refreshing drink before returning to Puntarenas or Puerto Caldera.
