At a farmhouse nestled in the Apulian countryside, you will have the opportunity to discover the secrets of an age-old art under the expert guidance of a master ceramist with decades of experience. This exclusive workshop will take you on a journey through tradition, creativity, and craftsmanship, offering you moments of genuine connection with the local culture.
Every corner of the workshop is filled with tools, potter’s wheels, and unique creations.
During this experience, you will have the opportunity to be guided step by step by a craftsman with decades of experience in the field, who will introduce you to the world of ceramics and explain the history of this fascinating art. They will share with you anecdotes, secrets, and techniques passed down over the centuries, giving you a comprehensive understanding of the craft.
The experience will begin with a brief theoretical introduction, during which you will learn about the characteristics of the clays used and the oldest and most modern working techniques. After this preparatory phase, it will be time to get your hands dirty!
You will learn to feel the right texture under your fingers, to understand the ideal moisture content, and to recognise the small details that make the difference.
You will learn the techniques for using the potter’s wheel, the tool that allows you to create perfect shapes using only the movement of your hands.
If you wish, and with the master’s agreement, your creation will then be left to dry and subsequently fired in the farm’s kilns.
If you’d like, you can have it sent to your home after it has been fired, as a lasting memento of your experience.
At the end of your workshop experience, a light aperitif will be served.
