Immerse yourself in the heart of Apulian tradition with an exclusive workshop dedicated to luminarie, the iconic light sculptures that make patron saint festivals magical. The experience takes place in Ceglie Messapica, a gastronomic and cultural gem of the Itria Valley, inside a genuine artisan workshop.
Under the guidance of an expert craftsman, the “Maestro Paratore,” you will embark on a journey that combines design, carpentry and electricity. Learn about the origins of this art form, now a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status, and how the intricate geometric patterns are created.
Familiarise yourself with the wooden structure, learn how to assemble the lamp holders and create a safe electrical circuit.
Choose the coloured bulbs you prefer to customise your creation.
At the end of the workshop, you will have created a working mini-luminaria, ready to light up your home and remind you of the colours of Puglia. This activity is perfect for couples, families and anyone who wants to enjoy a “slow” and creative experience away from the usual tours.
