Experience the adventure of exploring the Valdés Peninsula with us, one of the most spectacular wildlife sanctuaries in the world, on this excursion designed for nature and photography lovers.
About the sightseeing tour
Your adventure begins with pickup from your accommodation in Puerto Madryn. After a short tour of the city to learn about its history, we'll head to the Valdés Peninsula. Our first stop is the “Isthmus Carlos Ameghino” Visitor Centre, where you'll get views of the typical Patagonian landscape and the Gulfs Nuevo and San José, home to impressive wildlife.
We'll then continue to the picturesque little town of Puerto Piramides, where we'll make our second stop. From June to December, you'll have the optional opportunity to take a 1.5-hour boat trip to see the majestic southern right whale up close (not included in the price). During the summer and fall seasons, we'll have some free time to explore the beach and the local charm.
We'll then continue our journey to Caleta Valdés and Punta Cantor. Here, the trails and vantage points will let you observe colonies of elephant seals and sea lions. If you visit us between September and April, you'll be amazed by the adorable Magellanic penguins. Between October and November, keep your eyes on the sea, as this is the season when orcas often patrol these shores in groups.
During the summer and autumn months (December to May), we'll visit Punta Norte. This is the world-famous site where, in March and April, orcas perform “intentional stranding,” a hunting technique unique in the world.
As we drive along the gravel roads, the safari continues on land: keep an eye out for guanacos, choiques, maras and tinamous crossing the Patagonian landscape.
After a day filled with nature at its purest, we'll head back to Puerto Madryn to drop you off at your accommodation.
