Activity itinerary

Spa Diane Barriere Le Normandy (Pass by)

The Hotel Barrière Le Normandy Deauville is a grand hotel of the Groupe Lucien Barrière at Deauville in Normandy. It was built as the Hôtel Normandy by François André in 1912. It was used as the filming location of Agatha Christie's Poirot in the episode The Murder on the Links

Eglise Saint Augustin

  • 5m
On August 30th, 1864, the Duke of Morny solemnly laid the first stone of the Saint-Augustin church, built on a land acquired nine days before from the Société immobilière de Deauville. The church, built by architects Desle-François Breney and Anatole Jal at the middle of a walled garden, was blessed on July 30th, 1865 by the bishop of Bayeux. The cemetery is placed outside the borders of the new city, on the heights of Mont Canisy.

Hippodrome Deauville La Touques

  • 5m
The Touques racecourse hosts most of these races during the year, thus gaining the “four season hippodrome” nickname. Its calendar includes 42 days exclusively dedicated to flat races, highlighting thoroughbred horses’ speed abilities. The prestigious Group 1 races and the training centre hosting 300 horses in winter and 600 in summer has attracted the best jockeys and international clients. Ten years ago, the Touques was the first racecourse to include a sand-fibre track, hosting races in winter, when the Normand fields are covered by snow. The turf track is used again when the nice season comes. In this period, the racecourse organises several prestigious races including the Prix Rothschild, Maurice de Gheest, Jacques Le Marois, Morny, Jean Romanet… and to end the summer season, the Grand Prix de Deauville.

Villa Strassburger

  • 10m
Protected under the title of historical monuments in 1975, this imposing mansion responds to a command from Baron Henri de Rothschild, a great lover of racing. The latter chose to settle near the racetrack. The villa is erected in 1907 at the location of the Coteau Farm, property of the family of Gustave Flaubert. She visits from June to September and by appointment. She can also be rented for private events.

Church of St. Lawrence

  • 10m
From the name of its patron saint, the Saint-Laurent church is located on the heights of Deauville. It overlooks the city to offer one of the most beautiful panoramas of the surroundings.

Tourgeville Military Cemetery

  • 10m
Created in 1918, the military cemetery of Tourgéville is owned by the commission of war graves of the Commonwealth, ensuring an extraordinary maintenance of this area. At the end of the war, France granted a permanent concession to this place and the British cemetery of Tourgeville was inaugurated in 1920*. At the beginning, it was destined to the burial of soldiers dead in the hospitals of the British Army established in Trouville-Deauville.

Hippodrome de Clairefontaine (Pass by)

Designed by architects Jean Papet, author of several houses in Neuilly-sur-Seine, and André Rimbert, designer of the stands and the racecourse of Maisons-Laffitte, the Clairefontaine racecourse has a Norman style combining concrete and half-timbering. Its regional inspiration is enhanced by the profusion of flowers decorating the façades, leading this place to be called “racecourse with 100,000 flowers” about 50 years ago by Léon Zitrone!

Casino Barriere de Deauville (Pass by)

In 1912, Eugène Cornuché had this casino built by architect Georges Wybo. It is inaugurated on July 11, 1912. A few days earlier, the same operator inaugurates the casino of Trouville-sur-Mer. It is completely restored in baroque style by the architect designer Jacques Garcia in 1988. On May 26, 1978, the casino is the scene of an attack whose authors are Jacques Mesrine and François Besse.

Calvaire de la Corniche

Le Vieux Bassin

  • 10m
ONLY FOR THE HONFLEUR OPTION This watershed was created at the instance of Abraham Duquesne and by order of Colbert in 1681. It replaces the old haven of beaching which was much narrower. These works require the destruction of the western part of the ramparts. They end in 1684.

Saint Catherine's Church

  • 10m
ONLY FOR THE HONFLEUR OPTION The Church of Sainte-Catherine in Honfleur is an exceptional architectural treasure, embodying the rich historical and maritime heritage of the town. Built in the late 15th century, this entirely wooden church is the largest of its kind in France, making it a truly remarkable monument. Its unique architecture is the result of the craftsmanship of the shipbuilders of the time, who applied naval construction techniques to create this place of worship. The main nave, with its shape resembling an overturned ship’s hull, is supported by massive oak beams, exuding both strength and elegance. The detached bell tower, reminiscent of an old ship’s lighthouse, further emphasises the maritime connection that defines Honfleur. Dedicated to Saint Catherine, the patron saint of carpenters, the church reflects the significance of this community in Honfleur’s history as a once-thriving maritime port.

Notre Dame de Grace

  • 10m
ONLY FOR THE HONFLEUR OPTION The chapel "Notre-Dame de Grâce" was built in 1600-1615 by the citizens and sailors of Honfleur on the site of an old chapel disappeared in a landslide of the cliff. This primitive chapel was founded before the year 1023 by Richard II, then Duke of Normandy, to fulfil a wish made during a storm in which he almost died. Since then, the cult of "Notre-Dame de Grâce" has been perpetuated. The building is classified as a historical monument in 1938.

Panorama Mont-Joli

  • 10m
ONLY FOR THE HONFLEUR OPTION You will have access to a beautiful panorama and it is worth seeing especially on a sunny day. You will see the basins of the port and the two pylons of the bridge of Normadie connecting Honfleur to Le Havre and just below a good part of the old city with its narrow streets.

Le Manoir d'Apreval

  • 20m
ONLY FOR THE HONFLEUR OPTION At Manoir d'Apreval, a family-run estate located between Deauville and Honfleur, you'll have the chance to meet our friends and family, who have been passionately producing cider and calvados for five generations. Specialising in the cultivation of apples and pears, Manoir d'Apreval blends traditional and modern methods with a commitment to environmental respect. All our products, including pure fruit juices, cider, pommeau, and calvados, are organic. Set amidst the lush orchards of the Pays d'Auge, this charming estate offers an authentic and flavourful experience, immersing you in the heart of Norman tradition while uncovering the secrets of our production.
