Overview

This tour combines the tranquility of nature with the beauty of two iconic places.

Start with a relaxing float in the ancient Muyil Channels, a freshwater river that takes you through mangroves in the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. The current gently sweeps you away as you enjoy the scenery.

Then, you will visit the Kaan Luum Lagoon, famous for the contrast of its waters: a turquoise blue on the shore and a deep dark blue in the centre, where a large cenote is located. Here you will have time to swim and relax in the dock.

The tour concludes with an authentic regional meal in the village of Muyil.

Once in the lagoon, you board a small boat that takes you through the mangroves. The journey through the water is quiet and allows you to appreciate the unique ecosystem. The final destination is the entrance to one of the waterways, which are naturally formed slow rivers. To float, you put on a life jacket. The current gently sweeps you down the crystal clear water channel, which flows through the dense mangrove vegetation. You don't need to swim, just get carried away with the flow. The feeling is relaxing and unique, as if you were in a natural spa. It is an immersive experience and very connected to nature.

The main activities in Kaan Luum are swimming in its calm waters, taking pictures of the unique landscape and sometimes enjoying a natural “sludge bath” in the background. It is a perfect place for a quiet day, away from the beach crowds. It is important to remember that the use of sun cream or other creams is not allowed to contaminate the water of the cenote, which is a very sensitive ecosystem.
