What you can expect

Your day will start with a meet & greet at your hotel with a professional driver/guide who will then take you on a short tour of Dublin city in a luxury vehicle before reaching Co. Wicklow. The landscape within Co. Wicklow consists of agriculture farms and rolling hills that create part of Wicklow National Park.

On the drive through the stunning landscape you will get to view many breeds of cattle & sheep and also grains & crops that are well suited to the environment.

On arrival at the ancient ruins of Glendalough you will visit the visitor centre first and explore the rich history of the monastic city that was founded by Saint Kevin in the 6th century. Discover why this area was once a thriving place of learning and education.

The walk into the monastic city is through an arch that was once the front entrance for all pilgrims and monks, so you will be walking in the footsteps of many people before you who arrived and found peace and tranquility.

The church ruins stand abandoned today and are surrounded by a large graveyard with headstones, tombs and Celtic crosses.

You will have time to explore the area of the Glendalough valley and walk through the wooded walkways and view the stunning lake surrounded by hills of trees.

Lunch will be taken in a traditional Irish pub that serves a variety of Irish meals :

  • Beef & Guinness Stew
  • Fish & Chips & Garnish
  • Beef, Potatoes & Vegetables
  • Chicken, Potatoes & Vegetables

In the afternoon you will be taken on a sightseeing tour of the Wicklow Mountains where you will get to view some of the most beautiful locations with breathtaking scenery. There will be plenty of time for photos.

The beautiful Powerscourt Gardens are located in a private estate that is owned by the Slazenger family. These amazing gardens have been voted the No.1 gardens in Ireland and the No.3 gardens in the world to visit. The gardens have been divided up into different sections and themes, e.g.. The Italian, The Japanese, The Rose & Walled Garden which have the longest herbaceous borders in Ireland.

Throughout the gardens you will discover many mighty and majestic trees that were planted over 200 years ago for you to enjoy today!

The Powerscourt House has been turned into a shopping outlet where you will be able to buy local products and souvenirs.

On the return journey back to Dublin your driver/guide will share with you many of the finest restaurants and bars for you to enjoy. The tour will end when you are returned back to your hotel.
