What you can expect

Leave the Atlantic mist of Swakopmund behind and head deep into the Namib Desert to stand at the base of the “Matterhorn of Africa.”
We trade the pavement for a 4x4 and the open desert, driving deep into the wilderness to reach the 120-million-year-old granite spires of Spitzkoppe.
Along the way, we’ll stop at the coast to see the rusted remains of the Zeila shipwreck, a haunting reminder of the Skeleton Coast’s power.

As soon as we arrive, we hit the ground on foot to track down ancient San rock art hidden among the boulders and stand under the massive natural stone arch that has dominated this landscape for millennia.

Your guide knows these formations inside and out, sharing the history of these giants while you take in the views; it’s a standout location for photography and for good reason.

We’ll take a break to eat lunch right in the heart of the peaks, surrounded by nothing but silence and prehistoric orange stone.

This is a high-energy day of desert travel, built specifically for those who want to ditch the pavement and experience the rugged, unpolished heart of the Namibian wilderness.
