Matka Canyon

Matka is one of the most popular outdoor destinations in Macedonia and is home to several medieval monasteries. The Matka Lake within the Matka Canyon is the oldest artificial lake in the country. A lot of possibilities to escape from city life here - you can take a boat trip to the entrance of cave Vrelo or alternatively, hop aboard a kayak or raft and see river Treska canyon by water. Or simply you can walk along the lake and enjoy the nature.

Boat trip to cave vrelo Vrelo Cave has many stalactites including a large one in the middle of the cave known as the "Pine Cone" due to its shape. There are two lakes at the end of the cave, with one larger than the other. The smaller lake is 8 metres at its longest length and 14.92 metres in depth at its deepest point. The larger lake is 35 metres at its longest length, and 18 metres at its deepest point

Vodno is a mountain located in the northern part of the country, to the southwest of the capital city Skopje. The highest point of the mountain is at Krstovar peak, on 1066 metres and the submontane is on 337 metres.
Church of St. Panteleimon

Near the village of Gorno Nerezi and only 20 min drive from Skopje city centre, high on the forested slopes of Vodno mountain, the 12th century church of St. Panteleimon is founded. It is one of the oldest and most important churches in Macedonia, built and painted in 1164 under the patronage of Byzantine Prince Alexios Komnenos whose name is made immortal by being carved in marble, right above the entrance in the church. It was dedicated to St. Panteleimon, the protector of health.
Millennium Cross

The Millennium Cross is a 66-metre tall cross situated on the top of Vodno Mountain, above the capital city of Skopje. It is one of the tallest crosses in the world and It was constructed to serve as a memorial for 2,000 years of Christianity in Macedonia and to honour biblical passages citing the evangelization activities of St. Paul within the region. The monument has become a symbol associated with or representing Skopje. As a landmark, the cross has turned into a tourist destination with the best observation point to see the panorama of the capital city. Cable car fee is included Cable car is not operating on Mondays and every last Thursday of the month.
