Discover Nara in a relaxed and personal way, accompanied by a local guide. As this is a private tour, you can enjoy the city at your own pace, with time to learn about its history, take photographs, and discover details of Japanese culture that often go unnoticed.
We'll start at the Todaiji Temple, one of Japan's most iconic landmarks. Admission to the Great Buddha Hall is included. Inside, we'll see the impressive bronze statue of the Great Buddha and learn about the importance of Nara as the ancient capital of Japan.
Afterwards, we'll stroll through Nara Park, where the famous deer live freely and are part of the city's identity. You can get up close to them and feed them with the traditional deer biscuits included in the sightseeing tour. You'll also have time to take photos and enjoy the surroundings at your leisure.
Next, we'll walk through the sacred forest that leads to Kasuga Taisha. We'll visit the free-admission areas of the shrine, surrounded by stone and bronze lanterns, while the tour guide shares its history, traditions, and spiritual significance.
Finally, we'll head to the historic Naramachi district. If you like, we can stop for lunch at a local restaurant, and your tour guide can recommend options based on your preferences. Lunch is not included.
Afterwards, we'll stroll through its quiet streets, among old merchant houses, small shops, and spots that retain Nara's traditional atmosphere.
At the end of the sightseeing tour, your tour guide can accompany you on foot to the station or to an agreed-upon location in city centre Nara. As this is a private experience, the pace of the tour can be adapted as far as possible to your interests and needs.
