The High Cathedral of St. Martin in Mainz, or Mainz Cathedral for short, is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mainz and is under the patronage of St. Martin of Tours. The east choir is dedicated to St. Stephen.
St. Stephan's Church

The Catholic parish church of Saint Stephan in Mainz was founded in 990 by Archbishop Willigis on the highest elevation of the city. The client was most likely the emperor's widow Theophanu. Willigis wanted to create with it the place of prayer of the empire.
Mainz Citadel

The Mainz Citadel is located on the Jakobsberg on the edge of today's Old Town and in the immediate vicinity of the Roman Theatre station. The fortress was built in its present form around 1660 and was part of the Mainz Fortress.
