Our first stop is Amfipoli, where you will see the famous “Lion of Amfipolis”. Then we leave to the Archaeological site of Philippi – Unesco World Heritage Site. The ancient city was found by Alexander's the Great father, where we shall visit the Basilica, the theatre, the Roman Forum, the cell where Apostle Paul was imprisoned but also the Octagon Church- the first Chirstian church of Europe.

We visit Kavala city where for centuries Byzantines, Ottomans, Jews, merchants, tobacco workers, refugees and intellectuals mingled and prospered. Here in Macedonia, the sea-routes encountered the East-West axis, cross-fertilising both. See the tobacco warehouses and elegant neoclassical buildings recall the city’s glorious past and then enjoy the present with a meal and a drink in its lively centre under the eye of the city’s castle or around the port.

You have the chance to relax in Ammolofi beach and have drinks and refreshments at the beach bars. Return to Thessaloniki at the afternoon.
