Activity itinerary

San Vito

  • 5m
Boarding & Departure from San Vito Harbour Meet us at the charming San Vito Harbour, just 5 minutes from Polignano. It’s a historic abbey by the sea with a tiny fishing port : no crowds, just authentic Puglian vibes. Your Freeride skipper will welcome you at the main pier, next to the stone steps. He’ll help you board our private Freeride boat comfortably : it’s new, spacious, and has plenty of shade. After a quick safety briefing, we set off. In just 3 minutes you’ll be outside the harbour, with a postcard view of San Vito Abbey behind you. Then straight to the Polignano sea caves. Practical info : Free parking along Via San Vito. Wear comfortable shoes for the stone pier. We return to the same spot in 90 minutes.

Statua di Domenico Modugno

  • 10m
  • Admission ticket included
Cruise to the Domenico Modugno Statues After the sea caves, your Freeride boat cruises along the cliffs of Polignano’s old town. We’ll pass Lama Monachile beach and head to the most iconic spot : the statue of Domenico Modugno, arms wide open above the sea. We’ll stop at the perfect panoramic point right below the statue. This is the spot for unforgettable photos and videos. The Freeride touch : Your skipper will play “Flying – In the blue painted blue” in the background. Hearing Modugno’s song while looking up at his statue, with Polignano behind you and the blue sea below... guests call it a ‘goosebumps moment’. No crowded boat can stop here like this. With Freeride Boat, it’s just yours.

Lama Monachile

  • 10m
  • Admission ticket included
Photo Stop at Lama Monachile – Red Bull Cliff Diving Spot Freeride takes you right in front of Lama Monachile, Polignano’s postcard beach. We’ll stop at the best panoramic point for photos of the Roman arch, the old bridge, and the houses perched on the cliffs. From the sea, the view is unbeatable : you’ll see the whole cove, the Bourbon bridge, and the restaurant terraces above the blue water. Freeride insider tip : Look up and your skipper will point out the famous ‘divers’ house’ terrace. This is where Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series sets up the 27 - metre platforms every year. It’s Europe’s most thrilling dive spot, and you’ll see it from front-row seats : the sea. We’ll stop for 5 - 10 minutes — perfect for photos, videos, and to experience Polignano like the pro athletes do.

Grotta Palazzese

  • 5m
  • Admission ticket included
Stop at Grotta Palazzese – Polignano’s Most Iconic Sea Cave With Freeride we’ll reach Grotta Palazzese, the largest and most spectacular natural cave on the coast. This is home to the world-famous cave restaurant, carved into the cliff high above the sea. We’ll stop our boat right at the cave entrance, in the perfect spot for photos and videos. From the water you’ll see the restaurant’s lit terraces, hanging balconies, and turquoise water flowing into the cavern. It’s a view you simply can’t get from land. Freeride storey time : Your skipper will share the legend of Grotta Palazzese. In the 1700s, it was the private ballroom of a noble palace. The Dukes of Polignano hosted parties here, with guests arriving by sea. Today it’s one of the world’s most exclusive restaurants, but seen from your private Freeride boat, it feels even more magical.

Scoglio dell'Eremita

  • 10m
  • Admission ticket included
Cruise to Rock of the Hermit – The Hermit’s Rock After Grotta Palazzese, Freeride cruises south along towering cliffs and hidden coves. In just minutes we reach Scoglio dell’Eremita : a huge, solitary white rock rising from the deep blue sea. Legend says a hermit once lived here, guiding sailors in distress. Today it’s one of the coast’s wildest and most Instagrammable spot. We’ll stop the boat at a safe distance so you can capture photos from every angle. The contrast of white rock, turquoise water, and open sky is breathtaking. From here you’ll also see the untouched coastline towards Monopoli : just nature, no buildings.

Cave of Pigeons

  • 10m
  • Admission ticket included
Cruise to Cave of the Doves – The Lovers’ Cave Freeride will take you south past Scoglio dell’Eremita to Grotta dei Colombi, known locally as The Lovers’ Cave. This intimate cavern glows with emerald water. But the real magic happens once a day : around 1 : 00 PM, when the sun is directly overhead, its rays stream through a natural hole in the cave’s ceiling and project a perfect heart of light onto the rock wall. We’ll stop the boat at the cave entrance so you can witness this magical moment. It’s the ultimate spot for a once-in-a-lifetime couple’s photo — or an unforgettable propos. Freeride tip : Book the midday tour and we’ll time it exactly for the heart of light. With a private tour, your timing is flexible.

Polignano a Mare

  • 10m
Scenic Cruise Towards the Swim Stop After the caves and iconic spots, Freeride heads offshore and cruises slowly towards the area chosen for your swim stop. This is the most breathtaking moment : from open water you’ll get the full panoramic view of Polignano a Mare all at once. You’ll see the white cliffside houses, flower-filled balconies, Modugno’s statue terrace, Lama Monachile, and the coastline stretching towards Monopoli. From the sea, Polignano looks like a nativity scene floating on blue.

Polignano a Mare

  • 20m
Swim Stop in a Hidden Cove – Music & Apulian Aperitif After the scenic cruise, it’s time to cool off. Based on sea and wind conditions, your Freeride skipper will choose the most sheltered, safe cove along the coast. We’ll stop for about 20 minutes in crystal-clear turquoise water. With our easy swim ladder and freshwater shower on board, getting in and out is simple and fun for everyone. The Freeride experience : While you enjoy the sea, we’ll play your favourite music and serve our authentic Apulian aperitif. Enjoy chilled prosecco, taralli, focaccia, and local bites with the Polignano cliffs as your backdrop. This is pure relaxation : swimming, toasting, photos, and laughter. If sea conditions don’t allow a safe stop, the tour continues with aperitif served during slow cruising and extra time exploring the caves. Safety comes first.

San Vito

  • 10m
Return to San Vito Harbour & Farewell After the swim stop and aperitif, Freeride heads back to San Vito Harbour. The return cruise is slow and relaxing : the last 5 minutes to enjoy the sea, soft music in the background, and final photos as Polignano drifts away. We dock comfortably at the same stone pier where we started. Your Freeride skipper will help you step off the boat safely, offering a hand on the ladder. Freeride Check-out : Before saying goodbye, we’ll offer you fresh water and help with any bags or towels. Your skipper is happy to share local tips on where to eat in Polignano, which beach to visit next, or how to reach your next stop. Thank you for choosing Freeride Boat to experience Puglia from the sea. We hope to welcome you back on board soon.
