What you can expect

  • We're going to travel back in time and learn how the oldest town in Portugal came into being, visit historical sites that are over 2,000 years old, and discover mythical legends that have haunted the town since its early days!
We'll start the route on a Roman bridge that is over 2,000 years old, where we'll talk about the legends of this town – legends that were mythical from the time of the Greeks and were only demystified in Roman times! We'll pass by iconic places, and we'll learn about the woman who was the mother of Portugal's first king, Afonso Henriques! It was Queen Teresa who proclaimed Ponte de Lima a town, and since then we have been a landmark in the history of Portugal – after all, we are the oldest town in the country! Are you ready to discover Ponte de Lima?
