What you can expect

  • I'm Sandra, and I've been living in Mexico since 2015. For me, Playa del Carmen is much more than a holiday destination – it's a place full of stories, contrasts and vibrant culture.

Over the years, I have developed a deep understanding of the history and everyday life of this country, which I would like to share with you.

Playa is not just about sun and beaches, but also about people, traditions and perspectives that are often not apparent at first glance.

On this approximately 3-hour walking tour in small groups (max. 10 people), we will explore selected spots in the city and immerse ourselves in culture, history and contemporary Mexico – authentically, vividly and with room for questions.

Among other things, you will learn:

    • Why the way death is dealt with in Mexico is so special and what role the Día de los Muertos plays
    • Why skeletons and skulls symbolise joie de vivre
    • Why Frida Kahlo still reflects social issues today
    • How graffiti provides insights into identity, beliefs and everyday life
    • how Playa del Carmen has changed over the past few decades

This tour is for anyone who wants to do more than just take pictures of Mexico—who wants to truly understand it.

If you're curious and want to take a look behind the scenes, join me on a tour of Playa that will give you a new perspective.
