Technical and Challenging: With rope climbs, abseils, and wild camping, the crossing is excellent training for bigger adventures like Serra Fina and Transmantiqueira. ⛰️
Natural Beauty: High-altitude fields typical of the Atlantic Forest biome, stunning views of the Paraíba Valley, mountains in southern Minas Gerais, and a privileged panorama of the Serra Fina.
Highlights:
Pico dos Marins (2,422 m): The highest point of the crossing, steeped in stories, including the mystery of the disappearance of the boy scout Marco Aurélio. ️
Pico do Itaguaré (2,308 m): A massif carved by large vertical fissures, perfect for taking in the horizon and the grandeur of the Mantiqueira Mountains.
Pedra Redonda: An intriguing rock formation, visible only from the right angle, in the middle of the crossing.
Marins-Itaguaré Crossing Itinerary ⏳Day 1: Marins Base/Pico dos Marins/Pedra Redonda
Highlights: Ascent to Pico dos Marins, with stops for photos and rest. The summit offers breathtaking views and is a great introduction to the technical terrain of the crossing.
Camping: Overnight stay on the summit or at designated points further down. ️
Distance: ~12 km
Highlights: Crossing the mountain ridge, the group reaches Pedra Redonda, with unique views and moments of contemplation.

Distance: ~8 km
Highlights: Optional ascent to the Peak of Itaguaré and descent at the end of the crossing. We wrap up the expedition with unforgettable views and a sense of accomplishment.
