What you can expect

  • Discover elephant life on a 60-minute small-group nature walk through the green hills above Patong, Phuket. Follow a local guide along hillside trails to observe elephants in their everyday surroundings, learn from local keepers, and enjoy scenic views of the Andaman Sea.

Begin your experience at Patong Hill Tribe Elephant Village, where your guide introduces you to the sanctuary's approach to elephant welfare and respectful observation.

Instead of meeting elephants in a staged setting, follow your guide along the hillside nature trail to discover where the elephants are spending their time that day. Observe them from a respectful distance as they rest, forage, or move naturally, depending on their comfort and daily routines.

Along the way, hear stories and insights from local elephant keepers. Learn about elephant behaviour, individual personalities, daily care, and why responsible elephant tourism prioritises the animals' welfare over direct interaction.

The 60-minute small-group format gives you time to appreciate elephant behaviour and explore the tropical hillside setting at a relaxed pace. Enjoy views of Patong and the Andaman Sea along the way, weather permitting.

This experience is ideal for travellers seeking a calm, nature-based elephant discovery without riding, shows, feeding, swimming, or physical contact.

Elephant locations, behaviour, and walking routes may vary depending on elephant welfare, weather conditions, and keeper guidance.
