Experience an unforgettable thrill in the wild heart of the Abruzzo National Park on an exclusive bear-watching tour on the trail of the Marsican brown bear. Follow an expert wildlife guide through the woods of the Marsicani Mountains, crossing clearings and scenic paths until you reach the observation post on the rocks.
After an in-depth introduction to the bear and its habitat, you will set off on an easy 6 km hike (100 metres of elevation gain, return). Once you reach the safe observation point, you will be able to spot (if you are lucky) the Marsican bear in its natural environment without disturbing it, with the help of the guide's binoculars. The area is also frequented by deer, foxes, badgers, and sometimes wolves.
Bear-watching expeditions take place from May to October, when the bears are not hibernating. The experience is suitable for everyone 6 years and older (younger children only if they can remain calm), but dogs cannot be brought for safety reasons.
Bring a backpack, hiking shoes, layered clothing, water, snacks, and a packed dinner (recommended). It will be an evening immersed in the magic of the Abruzzo wilderness. In the event of bad weather, the excursion may be rescheduled or cancelled with a full refund.
IMPORTANT: The activity takes place in an area without telephone coverage. Meet at the Santa Venere Bridge in Pescasseroli, then transfer by private car to the start of the trail.
