In 1943, Oudtshoorn became a sanctuary for over 500 Polish children and their caretakers fleeing the devastation of World War II. Welcomed with open arms by the local community, these “Children of Oudtshoorn” turned a place of trauma into a place of healing.

Travel through the symbolic landmarks of their journey—from the military school that became their home to the waterfall where they rediscovered the joy of childhood. Hear a storey of resilience, compassion, and the enduring bond between Poland and South Africa.
