St Jude’s Anglican Church is one of Oudtshoorn’s most important historic landmarks and is recognised as the town’s oldest surviving sandstone church building. The foundation stone was laid in 1860, and the church was completed and consecrated in 1863

Le Roux Townhouse

The Le Roux Town House is a beautifully preserved sandstone home built in 1909 during Oudtshoorn’s famous Ostrich Feather Boom. Designed by architect Charles Bullock, it combines Art Nouveau and other period styles, with elegant verandahs, decorative ironwork, high ceilings and unique stained-glass panels. Today, it forms part of the C.P. Nel Museum and offers visitors a glimpse into the luxurious lifestyle of a wealthy Oudtshoorn farming family

The Oudtshoorn Synagogue, also known as the Queen Street Synagogue or “Englishe Shul,” is one of the town’s most important Jewish heritage landmarks. The foundation stone was laid in January 1888, during the height of Oudtshoorn’s ostrich-feather industry. Designed by architect George Wallis, it reflects the important contribution Jewish immigrants made to Oudtshoorn’s economic and cultural development.

St Saviour's Cathedral is the Roman Catholic cathedral of Oudtshoorn. The present cathedral was completed in 1967 and is known for its striking cross-shaped design, large wooden parabolic arches and beautiful stained-glass windows. One of its special features is the Black Madonna Chapel, which houses a copy of Poland’s famous Black Madonna of Jasna Góra. It commemorates the 500 Polish children and their caretakers who arrived in Oudtshoorn in 1943 during World War II.
